I tested this one out on a Gateway laptop running Windows Vista. The laptop has known hard-drive problems, so I frequently have to restore it to factory settings just to get it running. Therefore, this was installed on an essentially clean and new PC. I found that it used very little CPU, so it was able to run without interfering with my use of the computer, a definite plus. The first thing I did was pop in a CD that I know has a Trojan on it in order to test it. Moments after the autorun started, AVIRA successfully intercepted the program. Good on test one. Next, I opened IE and went to the Pirate Bay. I know they're bad people and all, but it is a reliable source of malware in the form of pop-ups, scripts, and such. Again, it managed to protect me from myself and intercepted the first bit of malware that attempted to run. I know these were some pretty obvious threats, but it stopped them nonetheless.
Cheapest piece of garbage training aid ever. Horribly designed and very very easy to break. Didn't last 10 minutes out of the box before it was rendered useless. Do not buy this!
I bought this with the 60 day money back guarantee. It's been 50 days and I will be sending back whatever is left. Does.....Not.....Work. I can see now how they fake people out by making it look like it improved their neck and jaw lines even tho they say they photographed people at the same angle. All you have to do is move your head directly back while keeping your neck still and you will look worse. Move your head forward without moving your neck and instantly your jawline and neck look way better. Nice trick! And deceptive. Back in the mail it goes.
I recently purchased this to use with my Asus Netbook. I read one of the reviews in which someone had purchased for same reason and application. I only paid about $50.00 on amazon, and figured I had nothing to lose at that price. It was easy to configure with the netbook. Run the disk with your external driver, plug in unit and you're up and running. I have not worked much with the GPS's but do have technical/electrical backgroung. The biggest fault I found with this unit is the slow receiver. It takes too long to link up with the satelites. Delorme says to expect 10 start up at times. It has taken longer than that many times. Unless you go out, start vehicle and gps, go back inside and have coffee for 20 minutes, you're GPS more than likely won't be ready to start working when you are.. When it DOES work, it seems to be relatively accurate. The other thing I did not like is it does not show the cross roads when traveling rural (which is most of my driving). In cities it is pretty good, but out in the country, it only shows the picture of roadways with limited labeling. I have the 2010 software, so this is really disappointing for new software. I have a Chevy Tahoe, which has adequete windshield slope to get a clear signal with unit. I have been reading reviews of other GPS's, and it seems some of the other expensive GPS's do not show cross roads either, so I felt a little better by that. I think with todays technology, all that info should be in view on your screen. I just noticed that this GPS went way up in price after I bought it. I would not recommend it for that price. Go for another one that links faster. I wish I knew which one to recommend, as that would be the one I buy. I still gave it 3 stars because of amazon's good service and the unit does do a decent job, when it links up. By the way, if you take off while the unit is trying to acquire satelites, you can plan on 30 minutes to an hour for it to completely be full 3D linked. If you are dependent on GPS, skip this one and keep shopping. If you can get it cheap and just want something to play with, it might be ok.
Dugoni presents another well-crafted preface to his new Tracy Crosswhite series. After suffering through the guilt of her sister's murder, Tracy Crosswhite used her thirst for justice to apply to the police academy. Passing with flying colours, she is sent to Seattle and works as a beat cop, now six years on the job. After the SPD is roasted for its treatment of female officers, a follow-up piece is slated and Crosswhite is given a journalist for a ride-along. Crosswhite prefers the Third Watch, colloquially-known as the night shift, where they're action and she can hone her skills. Refusing to discuss the gender discrepancies, she answers a call of a domestic disturbance. Crosswhite seeks to diffuse the situation but calls for back-up, which does not arrive. Now Crosswhite must make the ultimate decision as the domestic is turning into a hostage situation and she has a reporter eyeing her every move. Acting as she feels any officer would, Crosswhite seeks to make personal parallels with a man who has his wife and daughter on the other end of a shotgun, though she is unprepared for what happens next and must think on her feet. Trying to take the 'do your best' approach, Crosswhite will not get sullied with the department's politics, even if it can secure her a fast promotion to detective. Dugoni fleshes out more about his new heroine, whose approach is success through hard work, rather than pity.
I love this stuff for my little maltese. I put it on his tiny teeth with my finger every night before bed. Three times a week I put it on a tooth brush and brush his teeth. At 2 years old he was beginning to get plaque build up on his back teeth. I tried this stuff with allot of reservations. A friend had told me it worked for them and that I would have to stick with the regime for a couple of months to see the results. By the 3rd month I could see that 1/2 of all the tartar and plaque was gone. By 6 month 80% was gone.
