With 28,000 square feet of exhibition space, Pier 24 promotes photography and its manifestations through exhibitions, scholarship and programming. The goal is to foster a deeper understanding of the medium. urrently, the Pilara Foundation is in the programming stage and acts as a think tank for the entire photographic community with a special interest in what is happening in San Francisco. The Foundation endorses photography outside of their exhibitions by sponsoring artist lectures at universities and hosting round table discussions. The next exhibition at Pier 24 is the photography collection of Bob Fisher, the son of Gap founder Donald Fisher. Unlike Pilara, Bob Fisher has been collecting for 30 years. The exhibition is planned in conjunction with the exhibition of the Donald Fisher Collection at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. It opens in September and will have a considerably longer run (six months) than this inaugural show.

  • LAFurr - Very Pleased

    I had one of the first versions of this software when it first came out on an old computer. I kept telling myself it was time to upgrade. I'm glad I did! The new features are great. It is very easy to get started and the manual is user friendly. Should you need extra help! My only draw back was it said it came with 3 months of ancestry.com but when you link to ancestry.com they only offer a 14 day free trial.

  • Bengal Babe - Junk...Don't hold their seal

    Updated Review: When I wrote my original review, I had just packed the one XL Bag. A few days later I noticed the bag had lost the vacuum seal. I initially thought I just didn't pinch seal the bag closed well. However, yesterday I had a couple more bags packed and sat down to vacuum seal the first bag and two of the large bags. This time I made sure to seal both of the ziplock tracks thoroughly and I left the bags out instead of putting them in the closet so I could make sure they were working. I've cleaned out all of our closets and I have more bags to pack for storage. This morning when I got up all three of the bags had lost their seal. These are essentially worthless if they can't hold the vacuum seal.
