  • beirut fan - Helped a lot!

    this book covered the majority of the basics that I needed to know on the exam. I scored where I wanted to score and probably wouldn't have been able to do it without this book. The techniques were very well explained and I got more out of this book than I had paying $1000 for the Kaplan SAT class almost four years ago. If you really want to do well or improve, it's really all up to how you use your tools. This was the only book I used and I felt it was very useful. The vocabulary in the back of the textbook was also very helpful. Would highly recommend this book!

  • PAUL MCNEIL - You never know what's coming next

    I've been a fan of the Best American Nonrequired Reading series for a while, and this year is probably one of the most solid collections in the series. There is the usual grab bag of interesting and funny excerpts at the beginning, and articles and short stories after. There are a few that don't quite hit their mark, but some of it has stuck with me in the months since I read it. For example, "Casino" haunted me with its distillation of a parent's greatest fears, "Human Snowball" was full of serendipity, and "The Blind Faith of the One-Eyed Matador" shows human determination at its most impressive and foolhardy. My guess is, with this varied assortment, different readers will latch on to different pieces, but there's something for everyone. You never really know what will come next, and that's the fun of these collections.

  • Pamela Lund - Best Blender I've Had

    This blender is amazing. I use it to make smoothies with frozen fruit and it requires much less water than my old Osterizer needed. Having blades at different heights is such a great idea and I can't believe more blenders have that. The blender doesn't work well as a food processor because of the blade heights but it's not designed to. If you are looking for a blender that will chop up ice and frozen fruit in seconds without being very loud, this is the one for you.

    I bought the Kindle book and also got the option to play it on the Audible App. I have been listening rather than reading and I have about 2 hours left. It is not just narrated...they actually hired horrible actors to read the parts. So not only is the book easy to understand and insightful, the terrible acting is really entertaining.
